We're Now Tesla Certified and UL3141 Load-Management Certified Installers
Two announcements that matter for anyone booking an install in 2026:
- Austin EV Charger Installation is now a Tesla Certified Installer. We’re on Tesla’s official certified-installer roster.
- Our team is UL3141 certified for load management installations. The full crew, not one person on staff.
Both certifications are pieces of paper, sure. But both also reflect real training and real install protocols you’ll feel in the quality of your install. Here’s what they mean.
What “Tesla Certified Installer” actually means
Tesla maintains a vetted list of installers it has trained and audited to install Tesla Wall Connectors and Universal Wall Connectors to Tesla’s published spec. It’s not a marketing badge — it’s a vendor program with real entry requirements:
- Trained on Tesla’s hardware: Tesla Wall Connector and Universal Wall Connector
- Trained on the correct circuit, breaker, and conductor sizing for the full 48A continuous output
- Trained on commissioning and the in-app verification Tesla expects
- On Tesla’s public installer locator
For you, the practical impact: when you book a Tesla Wall Connector installation through us, you get the exact 48A install your car can take advantage of — not a “this generic 240V circuit works for any charger” install that ends up throttling the car.

What “UL3141 certified for load management” actually means
UL3141 is the safety standard for Automatic Load Management Systems (ALMS) — the technology that powers our Group Power Management service. Load management is what lets us add a fast EV charger to a full or older Austin home panel without the $3,000-$8,000 cost of a 200-amp panel upgrade.
UL3141 certification covers:
- Correct installation of CT clamps on main service conductors
- Correct sizing of load-shedding contactors
- NEC Article 220.87 (peak-demand) load-calculation methodology
- Commissioning, documentation, and inspection sign-off
In practice: this is the certification most “we also install EV chargers” general electricians don’t have. Load management is its own specialty — and an install that fails inspection because the load calc was wrong is no fun for anyone.

Why we put time and money into both
We do one thing — home EV charger installation in Austin and the surrounding metro. We don’t moonlight as general electricians or solar installers. That focus means it’s worth investing in the certifications that specifically matter to home EV charging:
- Tesla Certified covers a meaningful percentage of Austin’s EV fleet (it’s still Tesla-heavy here)
- UL3141 covers the load management work that’s our biggest differentiator vs general electricians
If you’re booking an EV charger install with anyone — us or otherwise — these are worth asking about. “Are you a Tesla Certified Installer?” and “Are you certified to install UL3141 load management systems?” are short, simple questions, and the answers tell you a lot.
